NDC Island–City Chairman Solomon Jabari Eyes Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency Leadership in 2026”

“The Chairman of the NDC Island–City Branch in Kumasi, Solomon Jabari, has officially expressed his intention to contest the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency Chairmanship of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2026 elections. The declaration was made on Sunday, December 28, at his residence at Ahenema Kokobeng, Island City, during the NDC Island–City end-of-year party, which drew party faithful, supporters, and key regional figures.

The event was attended by prominent personalities, including the Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Baah Acheamfour, and the Deputy Youth Organizer and Ashanti Regional National Service Secretariat (NSS) Director, Emmanuel Reagan Fynn, along with other party executives and stakeholders.

The celebration was lively, featuring dancing, hearty meals, and a festive atmosphere of unity. Mr. Jabari also took the opportunity to present gifts to individuals from various branches who have worked hard, contributed their quota, or made sacrifices for the party over the years, honoring their dedication and service.

Addressing attendees, Mr. Jabari highlighted the critical role the NDC has played in improving the lives of its members and supporters. He emphasized the importance of unity and cohesion among party members, noting that the next step is to come together as one family to fully benefit from the party’s collective efforts.

“My decision to contest the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency Chairmanship stems from a strong desire to restore peace, unity, and direction within the constituency,” he said. “Internal divisions have slowed the progress of the party here, and it is time for leadership that can reconcile differences and unite all factions toward a common goal.”

Reflecting on the 2024 general elections, Mr. Jabari observed that internal disagreements among constituency executives weakened the party’s performance. He pledged to engage all Branch Chairmen and Coordinators shortly after the celebrations to better understand their challenges and the true state of the NDC in Atwima Kwanwoma.

He also paid tribute to the women in the constituency, acknowledging their tireless contributions during election periods, which he said are often more demanding than those of men. He stressed the need to recognize and reward their dedication.

The announcement received widespread approval from all constituency executives, who expressed their full support and pledged to vote for Mr. Jabari in the upcoming election, signaling strong confidence in his leadership vision.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Jabari called on party members to remain disciplined, calm, and law-abiding, reminding them that the campaign season has not officially begun and urging patience until nominations are formally opened.

With a message rooted in unity, inclusiveness, and peace, Solomon Jabari’s declaration has set the tone for a renewed drive toward a stronger and more united NDC in Atwima Kwanwoma.
