The Old Tafo Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has leveled serious accusations against Frederick Frank Dankwah, commonly known as Kwame Agenda, Deputy Secretary of the Old Tafo New Patriotic Party (NPP). The NDC alleges that Dankwah has spread malicious and false information about their parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Sahmudeen Mohammed Kamil.
According to the NDC, Dankwah accused Kamil of deceiving voters in the Ahenbronum Electoral Area by claiming that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s Flagbearer, had endorsed his candidacy solely on the basis of their shared Muslim faith. Dankwah purportedly suggested that Kamil had used their religious affiliation as a strategy to gain support.
Abdul Mujeeb Abdul Rahmann, the NDC Communication Officer, has vehemently denied these claims, describing them as “malicious and unfounded.” Rahmann contends that the accusations are intended to damage Kamil’s reputation and mislead voters.
The NDC has demanded that Dankwah retract his statements and issue a formal apology within one week. Rahmann has warned that failure to comply will prompt the party to take further actions to address the dissemination of what they term as harmful misinformation.
