Ashanti Regional NPP Youth Organizers Endorse Dr. Bryan Acheampong for 2028 Presidential Candidate

Momentum is steadily building for Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Member of Parliament for Abetifi, as youth organizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region have openly declared their support for his presidential ambitions ahead of the party’s 2028 flagbearer contest.

At a well-attended press briefing in Kumasi, the Asokwa Constituency Youth Organizer, Mr. Kwaku Anafi, speaking on behalf of several polling station executives and youth leaders across the region, praised Dr. Acheampong’s outstanding qualities and vision for the nation. He emphasized that the Abetifi lawmaker has demonstrated a rare combination of competence, commitment to the youth, and the ability to unify the party at all levels.

Mr. Anafi underscored Dr. Acheampong’s notable contributions to job creation and empowerment programs for young people, describing him as a leader who understands the plight of the ordinary Ghanaian youth. “Dr. Bryan Acheampong has consistently championed youth development initiatives. His record of creating opportunities for young people speaks volumes about the kind of leadership he is ready to offer Ghana. He has the plan, the passion, and the proven ability to transform lives,” Mr. Anafi declared.

He further described Dr. Acheampong as a unifying force within the NPP, capable of bridging internal divisions and consolidating party unity as the party seeks to extend its governance beyond 2028. “The future of the NPP depends on a leader who can bring everyone together, and Bryan Acheampong has shown he has that capacity. He is the leader who can carry the grassroots, executives, and the entire membership along,” he added.

The youth organizer called on party delegates, particularly in the Ashanti Region — the stronghold of the NPP — to rally behind Dr. Acheampong’s vision, stressing that collective support from the grassroots will be crucial in ensuring a decisive victory when the flagbearership race begins.

Dr. Acheampong, a former Minister of State at the Ministry of National Security and current Minister of Food and Agriculture, has long been regarded as one of the rising forces within the NPP. His blend of governance experience, grassroots connection, and focus on national development has increasingly positioned him as a frontrunner for the 2028 flagbearer race.

Political watchers in Kumasi note that the endorsement by the Ashanti Regional NPP youth wing marks a significant development, as grassroots support in the region has historically played a decisive role in determining the party’s leadership.
