The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North, Hon. Frank Yeboah, has eulogized the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, describing her as an extraordinary woman whose legacy will continue to inspire generations of Ghanaians for decades to come.

In an emotional tribute on Friday, Hon. Yeboah reflected on the remarkable life and service of Nana Konadu, acknowledging her as a national icon who dedicated her life to championing the rights of women, strengthening social development, and advocating for an equitable society.

He noted that Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings was more than a First Lady; she was a transformational leader whose ideas, courage, and passion for empowerment reshaped Ghana’s socio-political landscape. The MP praised her for her unwavering determination in advancing the welfare of women and children, particularly through the 31st December Women’s Movement, which provided education, skills training, and economic opportunities to thousands across the country.

According to Hon. Yeboah, her life’s work served as a catalyst for gender inclusion and helped redefine the role of women in public leadership. He emphasized that her contributions went beyond activism, as she stood as a symbol of hope, resilience, and national pride.

“Ghana has lost a rare gem,” he said. “Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings embodied vision, purpose, and unmatched dedication to national progress. Her legacy will not fade with time; instead, it will inspire countless generations to rise, lead, and serve with integrity and conviction.”

The MP further described her as a courageous woman who championed issues that were often difficult yet necessary for building a fair and progressive society. He highlighted her bold leadership style, her firm belief in justice, and her constant pursuit of policies that uplifted the underprivileged.

Hon. Yeboah extended his condolences to the Rawlings family, the 31st December Women’s Movement, and the entire nation. He offered prayers for her peaceful repose and expressed hope that Ghana would continue to uphold the values she advocated throughout her life.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, who served as Ghana’s First Lady from 1981 to 2001, remained an influential figure in national politics and social development until her passing. Her lifelong commitment to empowerment, advocacy, and national unity remains a powerful reference point for generations to follow.
