NANA DANKAWOSUO CELEBRATES 55TH BIRTHDAY WITH INMATES OF KUMASI PRISONS

The immediate past president of the National Chamber of Commence, President-General of the West Africa Nobles Forum(WANF) and Omanhene Kyeame of Asante Juaben traditional Council, Nana Appiagyei Dankawosuo, has celebrated his 55th birthday with inmates of Kumasi prisons.

During the visit to Kumasi prisons, Nana presented items includes rubber buckets to help improve sanitation in the house, toilet rolls,set of canopies to provide enough shade for the inmates and other items worth over Ghc 20,000.

Nana used his visit to appealed to IGP and Attorney general department to put up proper measures to speed up process to trails remand suspects in prisons.

Nana expressed shock when he saw 455 suspects in prison remand who have being in prisons custody for very long time waiting for trials which he thinks is not the best for the country because some of them may be innocent to the charges levelled against them and keeping them for very long time in remand before trials is very bad.

He however appealed to the government to increase the feeding fees of Ghc1.80 pesewas per a day for each prisoner to enable them also have little comfort because some of them may come out with better lives after prisons.

Receiving the items on behalf of Kumasi prisons, the deputy director of Kumasi prisons,DDP Kwasi Asamoah Fenning, expressed gratitude to Nana Appiagyei Dankawosuo for the continue support given to the house.
