Nana Abroso Earns Praise from Church of Pentecost – Bantama Assembly for Supporting God’s Work and Community Development

The Church of Pentecost – Bantama Assembly in the Prestea Himan District has officially dedicated and commissioned its newly constructed ultramodern church building, with heartfelt tributes paid to Hon. Dr. Alex Yaw Baako, popularly known as Nana Abroso, for his unwavering support toward the growth of the church and the development of the community.
During the well-attended commissioning ceremony, Pastor Aaron Tetteh Nartey, District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost – Prestea Himan, commended Nana Abroso for his remarkable contributions, describing him as a true servant of God and the people. He noted that the Assembly Member had lived up to his promise to provide essential items for the church, including sliding windows, three air conditioners, and financial assistance for major church programs, particularly the annual “End of Sacrifice” event. Pastor Nartey offered special prayers for God’s blessings upon Nana Abroso’s life and expressed hope that, in the future, he would become a vessel to preach the gospel and win souls for Christ.
Addressing the gathering, Pastor Nartey used the opportunity to caution aspiring ministers and Bible school students to understand that the ministry is not a business enterprise for amassing wealth, but a divine calling to serve humanity and lead people into the kingdom of God. His message drew nods of agreement from church leaders and congregants who appreciated his sincerity and pastoral wisdom.
Taking his turn to speak, Hon. Dr. Alex Yaw Baako expressed gratitude to the church for recognizing his modest contributions and used the occasion to appeal to affluent Ghanaians to use their financial resources not only for spiritual purposes but also to uplift society. He stressed that while it is commendable to support religious institutions, it is equally vital to invest in initiatives that benefit the underprivileged, promote education, and improve community livelihoods. He urged his fellow countrymen who have been blessed with wealth to consider sponsoring brilliant but needy students, contributing to the development of rural infrastructure, and helping to alleviate poverty.
Nana Abroso also addressed the youth directly, emphasizing the transformative power of education. He cautioned against early marriage, especially among young girls, warning that it truncates their potential and hinders future opportunities. He encouraged young people to remain focused, pursue their education with diligence, and prioritize self-improvement as a pathway to a better life.
In a passionate call to the government, the Assembly Member highlighted some pressing challenges facing the Prestea Himan Electoral Area, urging immediate intervention. He lamented the poor condition of the Prestea Football Pitch, describing it as a critical facility that, if renovated, could harness the talents of local youth and serve as a hub for sports development. He also decried the deplorable state of the Prestea–Bogoso road, calling on the Ministry of Roads and Highways to prioritize its rehabilitation to ease transportation and improve the local economy.
Nana Abroso’s speech and acts of generosity resonated strongly with both church members and the broader community, who expressed deep appreciation for his commitment to service. Many described him as a leader whose passion for development is matched by his humility and spiritual values. His ability to blend service to God with advocacy for social progress has earned him admiration across the Prestea Himan area and beyond.
As the dedication ceremony concluded, the atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude. Church elders, youth, and residents alike echoed one sentiment—that Nana Abroso is not just a political figure, but a man of action whose leadership continues to make a lasting impact in both the church and the community.
