MTN Ghana Wins Three Top Awards at IPR Excellence Awards in Takoradi

MTN Ghana has once again affirmed its dominance in strategic communication and public relations after winning three major awards at the IPR Ghana Excellence Awards for 2023/2024. The recognitions reinforce MTN Ghana’s leadership in effective communication within both the telecommunications industry and the wider PR profession.
MTN Ghana was adjudged PR Organisation of the Year (Telecommunications), a category the company has now won for six consecutive years. The honour reflects MTN Ghana’s strong stakeholder engagement, its commitment to transparent communication, and its consistent delivery of clear, impactful messages across all platforms.
The company also emerged winner of the Best in Crisis and Issues Communications award. This recognition highlights MTN Ghana’s professionalism and agility in managing complex issues, especially during critical periods that require accurate information, transparency, and swift engagement. The award underscores the organisation’s ability to provide timely reassurance and support to stakeholders during challenging times.
In addition, MTN Ghana was honoured as Best in Corporate Communications, recognising the company’s excellence in articulating its vision, values, and strategic priorities both internally and externally. This category is newly introduced, making MTN Ghana the first-ever recipient of the award—an achievement that the communications team described as deeply inspiring.
Reacting to the triple win, Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, said:
“Collectively, these awards reaffirm MTN Ghana’s dedication to upholding high standards in communication practice and its ongoing efforts to deepen trust, enhance engagement, and shape meaningful connections with our customers, employees, and partners.”

Echoing this, Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, also expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments. She stated:
“These honours affirm the dedication and passion of our Corporate Communications team. Our focus has always been to tell MTN’s story with clarity, empathy, and purpose, whether we are engaging customers, supporting internal teams, or managing complex issues. This achievement motivates us to continue raising the bar in how we communicate and build meaningful connections.”
MTN Ghana says it remains committed to enhancing its communication strategies as it pursues its ambition of leading digital solutions for Africa’s progress under its Ambition 2025 strategy.
The National PR Summit, during which the awards were presented, took place from November 13 to 15, 2025 at the Western Plus Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi. The event brought together PR professionals from across the country to exchange ideas, deliberate on the business of the Institute, and celebrate excellence in the profession. This year’s summit was held under the theme, “Imagining PR in the Contemporary World.”
