MTN Ghana Sweeps Triple Honours at IPR Excellence Awards 2023/2024

 

MTN Ghana has demonstrated its leadership in strategic communication and public relations by winning three major awards at the IPR Ghana Excellence Awards for 2023/2024, reinforcing its reputation as a trailblazer in the telecommunications sector and the broader PR profession.

The company was named PR Organisation of the Year (Telecommunications), an accolade that highlights MTN Ghana’s commitment to strong stakeholder engagement and its focus on delivering clear, consistent, and impactful communication across all touchpoints. This marks the sixth consecutive time MTN Ghana has received this prestigious recognition.

In addition, MTN Ghana received the award for Best in Crisis and Issues Communications, underscoring the company’s agility and professionalism in handling complex situations with transparency, accuracy, and responsibility. This recognition affirms MTN Ghana’s ability to provide timely and reliable information during challenging moments, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to listening, engaging, and supporting stakeholders.

The company also won Best in Corporate Communications, acknowledging its excellence in conveying its values, vision, and strategic priorities to both internal and external audiences. This category is a new addition to the awards, making MTN Ghana the inaugural recipient.

Speaking on the achievement, Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, said: “Collectively, these awards reaffirm MTN Ghana’s dedication to upholding high standards in communication practice and its ongoing efforts to deepen trust, enhance engagement, and shape meaningful connections with our customers, employees, and partners.”

The National PR Summit, held at the Western Plus Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi from November 13–15, 2025, brought together public relations professionals from across Ghana to exchange ideas, deliberate on the business of the Institute, and celebrate excellence in the profession. The summit was held under the theme, “Imagining PR in the Contemporary World.”
