MTN Ghana Makes History with Induction into Project Management Institute’s Global Executive Council
MTN Ghana has achieved yet another milestone on the global stage with the induction of its Capital Projects Group (CPG) into the prestigious Global Executive Council (GEC) of the Project Management Institute (PMI). This historic development places MTN Ghana among an elite group of top-performing organizations worldwide that are defining the future of project leadership, governance, and transformational execution.

The PMI Global Executive Council is an exclusive global think tank made up of influential organizations across industries such as technology, aerospace, energy, healthcare, and telecommunications. Membership is reserved for those demonstrating the highest levels of excellence in project delivery and strategic transformation. MTN Ghana’s induction not only solidifies its position as a continental telecom leader but also elevates Ghana’s reputation in the global project management ecosystem.
MTN Ghana will be represented on the council by a seasoned team of experts led by Mr. William Tetteh, Chief Transformation Officer, who serves as the Primary Representative. Other distinguished members include Bernard Blewusi Agblevor, Coordinator for Project Fibre Network; Jonas Nanzoninge, Senior Manager, Enterprise Portfolio Management Office; Eunice Nelson-Cofie, Senior Manager, Project Facilities Implementation; and Jerry Nyamekye, Senior Manager, Transport Implementation.
In its official welcome, the Project Management Institute expressed admiration for MTN Ghana’s journey and the value it brings to global project leadership. “We are proud to welcome MTN Ghana to the PMI Global Executive Council, a global think tank of visionary organizations committed to advancing project management excellence. MTN Ghana’s inclusion marks yet another defining moment for Africa, as the continent’s telecom leader continues to take its place at the forefront of global innovation,” the statement read.
The PMI further lauded MTN Ghana’s potential to influence the broader landscape of project execution across regions. “We look forward to the unique perspectives and innovation MTN Ghana brings to the GEC, and to the continued ripple effect of its work in shaping Africa’s digital future.”
Commenting on this prestigious recognition, Mr. William Tetteh noted, “This recognition confirms that MTN Ghana’s project delivery standards, governance frameworks, and execution capability are globally benchmarked. It reinforces our ambition to lead not only in connectivity, but also in project strategy and value realization.”
The induction into the GEC also comes with considerable benefits. In 2025 alone, MTN Ghana is expected to receive more than USD 68,000 in direct value from PMI. This includes access to global and regional executive events, complimentary and discounted premier training sessions, and advanced leadership development programs tailored for top-level staff.

Other benefits of GEC membership include participation in advisory boards, project management maturity assessments, exclusive access to premium global communities, listings on high-profile job boards, and opportunities to nominate projects for international recognition. MTN Ghana will also host regional workshops, pilot emerging project management technologies, and feature prominently in PMI’s global research and publications.
For nearly three decades, MTN Ghana has remained at the forefront of transforming Ghana’s telecommunications sector. Today, the company is not only a leader in mobile connectivity but also a major enabler of digital infrastructure, financial technology, digital inclusion, and national development.
MTN Ghana’s entry into PMI’s Global Executive Council stands as a bold testament to its unwavering commitment to excellence in project management, and its readiness to contribute meaningfully to global transformation dialogues.
