The MTN Ghana Foundation is set to officially hand over a newly constructed and expanded Accident and Emergency (A&E) Centre to the Ho Teaching Hospital on Thursday, March 5, 2026, marking a significant milestone in efforts to strengthen emergency healthcare delivery in the Volta Region.

The formal handover ceremony is expected to bring together key stakeholders, including traditional authorities, community leaders, health professionals, government officials, and representatives of the Foundation, to celebrate the completion of the landmark health infrastructure project.
The ultra-modern A&E Centre, which was initiated in June 2024, has been designed and equipped to enhance emergency response capacity at the hospital. The expanded facility features modern medical equipment, improved patient wards, dedicated treatment areas, and enhanced accessibility systems to ensure convenience and efficient movement for patients, healthcare providers, and visitors. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to significantly improve triage, reduce waiting times, and support better clinical outcomes for emergency cases within the Volta Region and beyond.
The project forms part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to improving healthcare access and quality across Ghana. By investing in critical infrastructure such as emergency care facilities, the Foundation continues to play a vital role in supporting the national health system and easing pressure on frontline health institutions.
Ahead of the ceremony, officials of the MTN Ghana Foundation reaffirmed their dedication to implementing impactful and sustainable initiatives that address pressing community needs. They noted that quality healthcare remains central to national development, and partnerships between the private sector and public institutions are crucial to achieving lasting progress.
Since its establishment in November 2007 as the corporate social investment arm of MTN Ghana, the Foundation has focused on three core areas: Health, Education, and Economic Empowerment. Over the years, it has undertaken 178 major projects across the country, positively impacting thousands of lives and communities.
The commissioning of the new Accident and Emergency Centre at Ho Teaching Hospital further underscores the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare delivery and promoting equitable access to quality medical services in Ghana.
