MP for Atwima Mponua, Seth Osei Akoto, Reaffirms Commitment to Development During Thank-You

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua, Hon. Seth Osei Akoto, has reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the constituency during a thank-you tour across seven communities. The tour formed part of efforts to show appreciation to constituents for their overwhelming support in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

The communities visited included Beposo, Abompe, Bedaabour, Kwamedwaa, and Kyenkemtaa, where the MP was warmly welcomed by chiefs, opinion leaders, and enthusiastic residents.

Speaking to the people during the engagements, Hon. Seth Osei Akoto urged constituents to remain loyal to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), despite it currently being in opposition. He assured them that he was determined to bring real development to their doorsteps and would not allow the party’s minority status in Parliament to limit his ability to serve. “We must not lose hope. I am here not only to say thank you but to work with you and for you. Development does not stop because we are in opposition,” he told a cheering crowd.

The MP also announced plans to collaborate with the District Chief Executive (DCE), party leaders, and former MP Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah to ensure the prudent and effective use of resources for the benefit of all.

In Bedaabour, where developmental neglect has persisted for years, Hon. Osei Akoto made two major promises: to commission the long-abandoned CHPS compound, which has remained incomplete for nearly 13 years, and to spearhead efforts to extend electricity to the community.

Residents, visibly excited about the pledges, expressed optimism that the MP’s presence and promises would translate into action soon. The lack of access to quality healthcare and electricity has been a long-standing issue in Bedaabour.

In a post-engagement discussion with Otec FM, the Chief of Bedaabour, Nana Kwaku Boah, lauded the MP’s efforts and expressed confidence in his vision for the community. “This is what we expect from our leaders – engagement and action. We trust Hon. Osei Akoto to follow through on his word, especially regarding our CHPS compound and electricity needs,” the chief stated.

The thank-you tour also served as a platform for the MP to listen to grassroots concerns, with residents calling for improvements in road infrastructure, water supply, education, and youth employment.

Hon. Osei Akoto wrapped up the tour with a renewed call for unity, cooperation, and faith in leadership.

“This is just the beginning. I will continue to visit, listen, and work with you to build a better Atwima Mponua,” he concluded.
