The Kumawu Bodomase community recently came alive with the celebration of the annual Bra Fie Festival, a homecoming event that unites residents, indigenes, traditional authorities, and key stakeholders while fostering dialogue on community development.

The festival was attended by the Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim; the District Chief Executive, Hon. Kwasi Amankwa; chiefs, elders, youth groups, and other dignitaries, highlighting the significance of the occasion as both a cultural and developmental platform.

In his address, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating development in Kumawu Bodomase and its surrounding communities. He announced that several projects aimed at improving roads, schools, and social amenities were in the pipeline. The MP assured the community of his readiness to collaborate closely with the District Chief Executive to ensure the effective planning and timely execution of development initiatives.

Hon. Yaw Anim also advised the youth to exercise discipline during the festival, particularly by reducing excessive alcohol consumption. He encouraged them to utilize the educational, vocational, and skills development opportunities provided by his office to build productive futures.

The chief of Kumawu Bodomase, Nana Baffour Atta Dweneboah, appealed to both the MP and the District Chief Executive to work together in fast-tracking development in the area. He emphasized that improvements in infrastructure, especially roads and schools, were critical to enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Representing the Bodomasehene, the Bodomase Ankobea Hene, Nana Sefa Afriyie, specifically called on the Kumawu District Assembly to deploy the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) machinery to reshape and rehabilitate the town’s street roads. He noted that better roads would ensure smooth movement, facilitate local trade, and stimulate economic activities within the community.

Speaking on behalf of the organisers, the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Frimpong Marfo, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and successful conduct of the festival. He observed that the turnout and unity displayed by residents reaffirmed the relevance of Bra Fie as a platform for cultural celebration, dialogue, and development.
