A mob has descended on two men allegedly caught in the act of stealing generator cables in Lagos State.
The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development on Wednesday.
Hundeyin, in a series of tweets on his Tweeter handle, however, cautioned against mob action.
He tweeted: “These two were caught in the act of stealing generator cables somewhere in Yaba and were beaten black and blue by an angry mob.
“The police rescued them from lynching.
“Investigation has commenced.
“Don’t take laws into your hands.
“Stop jungle justice!”
