Methodist Men’s Fellowship Inaugurates Akropong Branch, Chairman Preaches Discipline and Christlike Living

The Kumasi North Diocesan Men’s Fellowship of the Methodist Church Ghana has inaugurated a new branch at Akropong in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti Region, marking the 68th branch under the Diocese.

The colourful ceremony brought together members of the church, community leaders, and well-wishers to witness the official establishment of the fellowship, which aims to unite men in faith, build their character, and strengthen their leadership roles both at home and in society.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Kumasi North Diocesan Men’s Fellowship, Brother Thomas Adjei Soadwah, underscored the need for men to uphold discipline and lead Christ-centered lives. He stressed that men, as heads of families and institutions, bear a greater responsibility in setting good examples for the younger generation.

According to him, crime rates in Ghana remain a concern because a significant number of crimes are committed by men. He urged men who indulge in drugs and other illicit activities to desist from such lifestyles and instead embrace the teachings of Christ, which promote honesty, integrity, and peace.

“Men must rise to their God-given responsibilities. Our society looks up to us, and if we fail to lead with integrity, the next generation will suffer. Following Christ is the surest way to reduce crime and promote peace in our communities,” Brother Soadwah said.

He further encouraged the public to live positively and responsibly, explaining that this would reduce the number of people being sent to court and prison, and ultimately foster a more disciplined and progressive society.

The inauguration of the Akropong branch adds to the growing presence of the Men’s Fellowship across the Diocese, creating a platform for men to build themselves spiritually and morally while contributing meaningfully to church growth and community development.
