Hundreds of women from Asisiriwa and nearby communities in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, turned out in impressive numbers to participate in a free breast screening and health outreach program organized by Mrs. Mary Boateng, an aspiring Constituency Women Organizer.

The event, held at the Asisiriwa Community Centre, was a vibrant display of unity, compassion, and purpose. It aimed to empower women through health education, preventive care, and practical guidance on wellness. Under the theme “Healthy Women, Stronger Communities,” the program underscored Mrs. Boateng’s vision of building a constituency where women are not only empowered socially and economically but also enjoy access to quality healthcare and education.

The outreach, which featured free breast cancer screening and health education sessions, was conducted by a team of qualified nurses and community health professionals who provided expert medical checks, counseling, and health talks. Women were taught how to perform regular breast self-examinations, identify early signs of breast cancer, and adopt healthy lifestyles to prevent non-communicable diseases.

In her opening address, Mrs. Mary Boateng expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the women of Asisiriwa for their overwhelming turnout and enthusiasm. She described the event as a reflection of her commitment to the wellbeing of women and her determination to bridge the gap in access to healthcare services across the constituency. “I am truly humbled by the love and support shown by the women of Asisiriwa. Today’s program is not just about free screening; it’s about valuing the lives of our mothers, sisters, and daughters. When women are healthy, confident, and informed, our communities become stronger and more resilient,” Mrs. Boateng said passionately.

She further explained that her vision goes beyond political ambition — it is rooted in genuine service to humanity and the belief that empowering women through health and education is key to community transformation. “If entrusted with the role of Constituency Women Organizer, I will continue to bring programs like this — practical, relevant, and impactful — to every corner of Bosomtwe. I want to be remembered as a leader who cared, who acted, and who made a difference in the lives of women,” she assured.

The medical team present commended Mrs. Boateng for her initiative, describing it as timely and highly impactful. They emphasized that early detection remains the most effective way to combat breast cancer and encouraged all women to take regular screenings seriously.

Participants who benefited from the program could not hide their joy and appreciation. Many said the exercise had provided them with valuable health insights and renewed motivation to adopt healthy lifestyles.

One participant, Madam Esther Addai, expressed gratitude on behalf of the women, saying: “We are very grateful to Madam Mary Boateng for this wonderful gesture. Most of us cannot afford such medical check-ups, so bringing it right to our doorstep is a great blessing. It shows that she truly understands the challenges women face.”

Another participant, Madam Comfort Agyemang, praised Mrs. Boateng’s humility and commitment, adding that her leadership style reflects genuine concern for the wellbeing of others. “This is what we expect from our leaders — someone who comes close to the people, listens to them, and brings practical solutions. Mrs. Boateng has proven she is that kind of leader,” she noted.

The event concluded with a motivational session where Mrs. Boateng encouraged women to take leadership roles in their communities, pursue personal growth, and support one another in building a healthier, more united constituency.

She reaffirmed her pledge to continue advocating for women’s welfare, emphasizing that her leadership will be guided by empathy, action, and accountability. “I’m not just asking for votes; I’m demonstrating what I stand for — compassion, service, and progress. Together, we can build a Bosomtwe where every woman is seen, heard, healthy, and supported,” Mrs. Boateng declared to resounding applause.

The Asisiriwa Health Outreach Program has since been hailed by residents and observers as one of the most impactful community health initiatives in recent times. It showcased Mrs. Boateng’s proactive leadership, her deep connection with the grassroots, and her unwavering dedication to the advancement of women.

Through her vision and action, Mrs. Mary Boateng continues to inspire hope and unity — proving that true leadership begins with service, and that empowered women remain the cornerstone of strong families, thriving communities, and a progressive Bosomtwe District.
