Manso Takorase Assembly Member, Hon. Dominic Bonsu, to Disburse GH¢1,000 Each to Businesswomen and Donate Rice to Disabled Women

In a remarkable show of commitment to grassroots development and women’s empowerment, Hon. Dominic Bonsu, the Assembly Member for the Manso Takorase/Afraso Electoral Area in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region, is set to host a life-changing empowerment program for women in his electoral area.
The much-anticipated event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 31, 2025, at the funeral grounds of Manso Takorase. The occasion will see GH¢1,000 cash grants disbursed to each businesswoman in the community, aimed at boosting their capital and supporting the growth of their small and medium-scale enterprises.
In addition to the financial support for businesswomen, Hon. Bonsu will also donate bags of rice to all disabled women within the electoral area, reflecting his inclusive approach to development and dedication to improving the living standards of vulnerable groups in society.
Speaking ahead of the event, Hon. Dominic Bonsu described the initiative as part of his broader vision to uplift women, promote self-reliance, and stimulate local economic development. According to him, the success of any community largely depends on the productivity of its women, and empowering them economically will go a long way to benefit families and society as a whole.
“As someone who grew up among hardworking women in this community, I know the struggles they face every day to keep their families going. This is why I am dedicating my personal resources to support their businesses and also ensure our disabled women are not left out,” he said.
The program is expected to draw hundreds of beneficiaries, community elders, opinion leaders, youth groups, and local dignitaries who will witness this generous gesture from the philanthropist-turned-politician and successful businessman.
Hon. Bonsu, who is widely respected for his development-oriented leadership, has over the years supported various community projects including school renovations, youth employment initiatives, and health outreach programs. His continued dedication to community welfare has earned him admiration from both young and old in the Manso Takorase/Afraso Electoral Area.
Residents have expressed their gratitude in advance, describing the upcoming program as timely, especially in the face of current economic challenges confronting small-scale traders and persons living with disabilities.
The July 31st event promises to be a memorable one, not just for the recipients, but for the entire community, as it further cements Hon. Dominic Bonsu’s legacy as a leader who truly serves with heart and purpose.
