The Odikro of Manso Adwumamu in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Yaw Asubonteng, has issued a passionate appeal to the government and other stakeholders to urgently provide additional classroom blocks, more teachers, and a health clinic to improve education and healthcare delivery in the community.

Speaking to the media, Nana Yaw Asubonteng expressed deep concern about the deplorable state of school infrastructure in the area, lamenting that the current situation has become a major obstacle to effective teaching and learning. He revealed that many of the classrooms are in poor condition, creating an unconducive environment for students, while the lack of facilities has led several teachers to request transfers to other schools, leaving the community with a shortage of qualified staff.

The Odikro noted that education is the foundation of development and stressed the urgent need for government intervention. He appealed for modern classroom blocks and adequate educational resources to ensure that children in the community have access to quality learning opportunities. He also called for the establishment of a health clinic to provide basic medical care for both students and residents, who currently have to travel long distances to access healthcare services.

The Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Mark Asamoah, together with some teachers, echoed the Odikro’s plea, emphasizing the pressing need for modern educational facilities. They called on the government to prioritize the community and provide an ultramodern classroom block to enhance teaching and learning, noting that the current conditions negatively affect academic performance and teacher motivation.

Residents of Manso Adwumamu also expressed support for the appeal, praising their leaders for consistently advocating for improved facilities and urging both governmental and non-governmental organizations to come to their aid. They stated that access to better infrastructure would not only transform education in the community but also inspire students to achieve better academic results and encourage teachers to remain in their posts.

The appeal from Manso Adwumamu highlights the broader challenges rural communities face in their quest for quality education and healthcare. Leaders of the town are hopeful that government intervention and support from stakeholders will bring lasting solutions to these problems and create a brighter future for children in the community.
