The community of Manso Adubia has officially launched its 2026 Homecoming initiative, aimed at mobilising resources to complete the long-awaited teachers’ quarters in the town. The project is part of broader efforts to address the housing challenges facing teachers and enhance educational development in the area.

Speaking at the launch, the Assembly Member for Manso Adubia, Hon. Peter Awere, highlighted the growing difficulties teachers face in securing accommodation due to rising rents and scarce housing options, largely driven by local mining activities. “Many of our teachers struggle to find affordable housing, which sometimes discourages them from accepting postings or staying long-term. Completing the teachers’ quarters will provide them with safe, convenient, and sustainable accommodation,” he stated.

Hon. Awere emphasised that the Homecoming initiative presents a platform for indigenes, development partners, and stakeholders to contribute financially and materially towards completing the project. He encouraged residents and natives abroad to actively support the initiative to ensure its success.

Also present at the launch, Hon. Dominic Bonsu, Assembly Member for the Manso Takorase Electoral Area, lauded the community for prioritising education. He called on all stakeholders to rally behind the initiative, noting that teachers are pivotal to community development. “Supporting our educators is an investment in the future of our community. Their welfare directly impacts the quality of education and the growth of Manso Adubia,” he remarked.

The launch also served as an appeal to indigenes living outside the community, including those abroad, to return home during the 2026 Homecoming celebration and contribute to local development projects. Community leaders stressed that the initiative is an opportunity to reconnect with the town’s roots while supporting essential infrastructure.

Residents expressed optimism that the Homecoming fund drive will attract the necessary support to complete the teachers’ quarters, easing housing challenges for educators and ensuring stability in the local education sector. Once completed, the facility is expected to improve teacher retention and significantly enhance the delivery of quality education in Manso Adubia and surrounding communities.
