Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, aspiring NPP parliamentary candidate for Manhyia South, has launched the “Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh Health Fund” for Manhyia Local Prison inmates.
Named after former MP Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), this fund aims to cover healthcare costs beyond NHIS provisions.
At the launch, Lawyer Baffour Awuah presented GHC 5,000 as seed money and donated 360 packs of food items. He pledged periodic contributions to sustain the fund.
Addressing the media, Lawyer Baffour Awuah emphasized the prison’s welfare needs and promised to complete his predecessor’s office accommodation project.
He urged Ghanaians to support NPP in the upcoming elections, citing their dedication to citizen welfare and development.
DDP Joseph Asabre, officer in charge of Manhyia Local Prison, thanked Lawyer Baffour Awuah for the timely donation, describing it as “godly.”
He appealed to the public to emulate Dr. NAPO and Lawyer Baffour Awuah’s examples.
