A man, identified only as Kwame and believed to be in his early 30s, has allegedly committed suicide at Dumanafo in the Kwabre East Municipal of the Ashanti Region.

According to reports, Kwame dropped his daughter off at his sister’s house (Fawade) just before committing suicide.

Kwame, the deceased, killed himself with a sponge in an uncompleted building, Rainbowradioonline.com has gathered.

Confirming the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem, former assemblywoman, Nana Yaa said it remains unclear why the man committed suicide, but the police are currently investigating the matter.

She claimed they awoke this morning to find out the man had committed suicide.

”We awoke this morning to see people rushing to the scene of the accident. We saw him dangling from a sponge. A silver bowl with what appeared to be herbs was placed beside him. His slippers were also found on the scene. We don’t know who he was or where he lived, but some said he was a mason who worked in the area.”

Later, a woman who had come to see what was going on screamed that the man was her brother and that their mother was dead and was currently at the morgue awaiting the final funeral rites.”

The body has since been removed from the scene and deposited at the morgue pending investigation.
