A Kumasi-based journalist and TV presenter, Aduanaba Kofi Ampong Emmanuel, has extended his generosity to schoolchildren in some rural communities in the Ashanti Region, donating essential educational materials to support their academic journey.

The Mabesh TV Morning Show Host made the donation to pupils of Mpasatia Amadu D/A Basic School, African Faith Basic School (Mpasatia) in the Atwima Mponua district,Toase M/A Basic School in the Atwima Nwabiagya South district and Wioso Presby Basic A and B Schools in the Asante Akyem North municipal .

The items, which included exercise books, pens, and pencils, were distributed to pupils from lower to upper primary classes. A significant number of the beneficiaries were orphans and children from low-income families, many of whom struggle to access basic school supplies.

In an interview during the presentation, Aduanaba Kofi Ampong shared that the initiative was born out of his passion to promote education and ensure that no child is left behind because of poverty.

“It gives me great joy to put smiles on the faces of these pupils. Many of them are eager to learn but lack basic supplies. This is my small way of encouraging them and supporting their dreams,” he said.

He further called on other well-meaning Ghanaians, corporate organizations, and stakeholders in education to invest in initiatives that uplift the standards of learning in rural communities, stressing that education remains the most powerful tool for national development.

The journalist assured that this was not a one-off gesture, revealing his commitment to extend similar donations to other deprived schools across the Ashanti Region and beyond.

Headteachers of the beneficiary schools expressed their profound appreciation to Aduanaba Kofi Ampong, describing his donation as a timely intervention that would motivate both pupils and teachers.

“For many of these pupils, this is the first time they’re receiving brand-new books and stationery. Aduanaba’s generosity is more than just a donation; it is an inspiration for these children to pursue education with hope,” said Mrs. Akosua Osei, Headteacher of Mpasatia Amadu D/A Basic School.

The headteachers further appealed to philanthropists, NGOs, and other benevolent individuals to emulate this gesture, as rural schools continue to face challenges including inadequate learning materials, poor infrastructure, and limited access to educational resources.

Parents and guardians who were present at the event also expressed their gratitude, noting that the donation had relieved them of a major financial burden at the start of the academic year. Some pupils, visibly excited, said the support would motivate them to work harder in their studies.

The donation by Aduanaba Kofi Ampong has been widely commended as a symbol of community leadership and compassion, demonstrating how individuals can contribute to improving education in underserved areas.
