On January 1st, 2025, the Life-Giving Family Foundation reached out with a heartwarming gesture of goodwill, bringing hope and relief to over 1000 marginalized individuals, including street children, mentally ill persons, refugees, and others in need. The foundation provided prepared meals and essential supplies, valued at millions of cedis, ensuring these vulnerable groups were not left behind during the New Year festivities. The outreach was carried out across multiple locations in the Kumasi Metropolitan area, including Gee Roundabout, Kejetia, Roman Hill, Alabar, Dr. Mensah, Tinker Base, and Cultural Central.
Led by Mr. Prince Kofi Yeboah, the Life-Giving Family Foundation’s initiative aimed to offer comfort and relief to those often overlooked during the New Year celebrations. This charitable act was a testament to the foundation’s long-standing commitment to supporting society’s most vulnerable. Volunteers and staff joined forces to distribute food and supplies, offering care and hope to individuals who struggle to meet their basic needs.
Mr. Prince Kofi Yeboah, one of the founders and president of the foundation, deeply aware of the hardships faced by marginalized individuals from personal experience, shared the mission behind the initiative. “We want to bring smiles to the faces of the needy, especially street children and the mentally ill,” he said. “I understand the struggles these children face because I’ve experienced similar circumstances. If their families were able to care for them, they wouldn’t have to suffer on the streets. Our goal is to make this New Year a little brighter for them.”
The Life-Giving Family Foundation’s outreach extended beyond just providing food. Volunteers took the time to interact with the beneficiaries, offering emotional support and spreading hope to people who often experience isolation and neglect. The foundation’s goal was not only to meet immediate needs but also to help these marginalized groups feel cared for and valued, especially at a time when many others were celebrating with their families.
Miss Charity Mensah, the Secretary of the Life-Giving Family Foundation, also spoke about the initiative, highlighting the foundation’s strong Christian principles. “This is part of our Christian duty,” Miss Mensah said. “As Jesus Christ taught, we are called to visit the sick, care for those in need, and help the vulnerable. The foundation has taken it upon itself to support people with disabilities, the homeless, and those struggling with hunger. Our mission is to put smiles on their faces and provide them with the support they desperately need.”
Miss Charity Mensah emphasized that giving to the less fortunate is not only about helping others but also about drawing closer to God. “We believe that by helping the needy, we attract the blessings of God into our lives,” she shared. “Our aim is to inspire others to do the same and spread love by helping those in need.”
In a heartfelt appeal to the broader community, Mr. Prince Kofi Yeboah urged others to join the cause. “I encourage everyone to reach out and help those struggling in our streets and communities,” he said. “It is through giving that we show our love for others. As Christians, helping those in need is one of the most important responsibilities we can fulfill.”
The beneficiaries of the Life-Giving Family Foundation’s outreach expressed deep gratitude for the kindness shown to them, particularly during a time when they felt forgotten by society. Many shared how the support had a profound impact on their lives. The smiles and appreciation from the individuals were clear reflections of the foundation’s mission to uplift and care for society’s most vulnerable members.
As the foundation continues its mission, this New Year’s Day initiative serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion and giving back. Through their selfless efforts, the foundation has brought hope and relief to many individuals, and it is evident that their unwavering commitment to helping others will continue to inspire positive change in the community for years to come.
The Life-Giving Family Foundation would like to express special appreciation to all the people who supported this project—sponsors, patrons, and volunteers—especially Mrs. Florence Arhin. The foundation also thanks their friends and family abroad, including Dr. Kwaku, Bernice, Auntie, Samuel, Nicole, Gloria, Joseph, Kingsford, and all members of the Life-Giving Family Foundation from other regions. The foundation extends heartfelt thanks to Miss Jacklin Abrafi Asare, their co-founder, who is currently in the United States, for her unwavering support.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made this year’s project a success. Your support allowed us to make a significant difference in the lives of many,” the foundation expressed. “We use this opportunity to invite the general public to become part of our cause. Our foundation is open to new sponsors and partners, and we encourage anyone who wishes to join us to reach out via our social media platforms or by calling 0553086010 / 0596298950.”
