On January 1st, 2025, the Life-Giving Family Foundation demonstrated its unwavering commitment to uplifting society’s most vulnerable by reaching out to over 1,000 marginalized individuals in the Kumasi Metropolitan area. The foundation’s New Year’s Day outreach focused on street children, mentally ill persons, refugees, and others in need, providing them with essential supplies and prepared meals, totaling millions of cedis. The initiative took place across several key locations, including Gee Roundabout, Kejetia, Roman Hill, Alabar, Tinker Base, and Cultural Central.
Led by Mr. Prince Kofi Yeboah, a man who knows firsthand the struggles of marginalized groups, the initiative sought to spread hope and alleviate suffering for those often forgotten during festive seasons. Volunteers and foundation staff came together to deliver food, clothing, and other necessities, ensuring these individuals were not left behind during the New Year celebrations.
Mr. Yeboah, who has experienced similar hardships in his own life, emphasized the mission behind the initiative. “Our goal is simple: we want to brighten the New Year for street children and the mentally ill. I understand their pain because I’ve been in their shoes. If these children had family support, they wouldn’t be on the streets. We want to offer them a little relief and a reminder that they are valued,” he said.
Beyond providing physical support, the foundation’s outreach aimed to offer emotional comfort. Volunteers took time to engage with the beneficiaries, offering them not just food but also companionship and kindness during a time when they often feel isolated and forgotten. This personal connection is at the heart of the Life-Giving Family Foundation’s approach to charitable work, as they believe it’s crucial to uplift both the body and the spirit.
Miss Charity Mensah , the secretary of the foundation, highlighted the organization’s Christian values, which guide all of its endeavors. “As Christians, it is our duty to care for the sick, feed the hungry, and comfort those in need,” she said. “This outreach is an embodiment of those values, and we are proud to fulfill that duty by supporting the most vulnerable in our society.”
The support and care provided by the foundation had a profound impact on the beneficiaries, many of whom expressed heartfelt gratitude. Their smiles and appreciation were powerful reflections of the difference that kindness can make, especially for those who often feel invisible in society.
In his address, Miss Charity Mensah also encouraged others to follow suit and get involved in giving back to the community. “We urge everyone to take part in helping those who are struggling. Even small acts of kindness can have a huge impact. As Christians, we are called to love our neighbors, and there’s no better way to do that than by supporting those in need,” she said.
The Life-Giving Family Foundation also took the opportunity to thank the many sponsors, partners, and supporters who helped make this outreach a success. Special recognition was given to Mrs. Florence Arhin, Dr. Kwaku, Bernice, Auntie, Samuel, Nicole, Gloria, Joseph, Kingsford, and the foundation’s members from other regions. The foundation also expressed its gratitude to co-founder Miss Jacklin Abrafi Asare, who is currently in the United States, for her ongoing support.
As the Life-Giving Family Foundation looks ahead to the future, it remains committed to its mission of empowering the marginalized and uplifting communities in need. They are calling on the public to join them in their mission and help make a lasting difference.
