The Paramount Chief of the Kumawu Traditional Area, Barimah Sarfo Tweneboah Kodua, together with the Member of Parliament for the Kumawu Constituency, Ernest Yaw Anim, and the District Chief Executive for the Sekyere Kumawu District, Kwasi Amankwa, has officially commissioned a newly constructed community centre in Kumawu to enhance social and administrative activities within the district.

The commissioning ceremony attracted a large gathering of assembly members, traditional leaders, opinion leaders, youth groups, and residents who assembled to witness what many described as a significant milestone in the infrastructural development of the district.

In his remarks, the Member of Parliament, Ernest Yaw Anim, expressed profound appreciation to the District Chief Executive, the district assembly, and the Kumawumanhene for their cooperation and commitment in bringing the project to completion. He also acknowledged the efforts of the previous government for initiating and constructing the facility, stressing that development is a continuous process that requires the contributions of successive administrations.

Hon. Anim emphasized that the newly commissioned community centre would serve as an important venue for public meetings, social gatherings, and development-related engagements within the district. He therefore urged residents and local authorities to take proper care of the facility to ensure its longevity and continued usefulness to the community.

The MP further pledged his unwavering commitment to working closely with the District Chief Executive and the assembly to accelerate development across the district. According to him, collaboration between political leadership, traditional authorities, and community members remains essential in addressing the developmental needs of the people.

For his part, the District Chief Executive, Kwasi Amankwa, reaffirmed the assembly’s dedication to supporting projects that improve the welfare and living conditions of residents in the district. He noted that the new community centre would provide a suitable space for official engagements, community programmes, and other activities that promote effective local governance and social interaction.

Addressing the gathering, the Kumawumanhene, Barimah Sarfo Tweneboah Kodua, commended the government and the district assembly for ensuring the successful completion of the project. He described the facility as a major development that would significantly benefit the people of the Kumawu Traditional Area.

The revered traditional leader further urged the district assembly and all stakeholders to handle and maintain the community centre with utmost care to preserve its value for future generations. He also called on the Member of Parliament and the District Chief Executive to continue working together in unity and harmony to promote the overall progress and development of the district.

The newly commissioned community centre is expected to serve as a vital hub for community engagement, public administration, and social events, thereby strengthening development efforts and civic participation in Kumawu and its surrounding communities.
