Kumawu MP Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim Donates GH¢10,000 and 24 Street Lights to Sekyere Kusi SHS; Pledges Quarterly Support

The Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, on Sunday, 23rd November 2025, extended substantial support to Sekyere Kusi Senior High School as part of his ongoing commitment to improving educational infrastructure across the constituency. Hon. Anim donated GH¢10,000 in cash and 24 street light bulbs to the school to enhance security, visibility, and the overall learning environment.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Hon. Anim stated that education remains one of his top priorities, adding that the donation forms part of a broader initiative to strengthen the capacity of schools within Kumawu. He noted that the installation of the street lights would greatly improve safety on campus, especially during evening studies, while the cash donation is expected to support the school’s pressing developmental needs.

In what has been described as a major boost to the school’s infrastructure agenda, the MP also pledged to donate GH¢10,000 every quarter to support the ongoing construction of classroom blocks initiated by his late predecessor, Hon. Philip Basoah. Hon. Anim explained that continuing the project is a way of honoring the legacy of Hon. Basoah and ensuring that the school’s infrastructural expansion is not halted.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the Headmaster, Nana Obrempong Nkrumah Agyei II, expressed deep appreciation to the MP, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. He said the donation would significantly support the school’s efforts to improve academic excellence and student welfare. According to him, the street lights would address long-standing challenges related to security and poor visibility at night.

Nana Obrempong Nkrumah Agyei II used the occasion to appeal for additional support to address other infrastructure gaps. He mentioned the need for a boys’ dormitory, a pickup vehicle for administrative duties, a modern dining hall, and other essential facilities that would enhance teaching and learning. He called on government agencies, stakeholders, and the MP to continue supporting the school’s development agenda.

Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim reassured the school authorities of his unwavering commitment to improving education in the constituency. He emphasized that sustained collaboration between the community, school leadership, and the MP’s office would accelerate development and create a conducive environment for students to excel.

Teachers, students, and community members present at the ceremony praised the MP for his thoughtful intervention and dedication to educational growth. Many described his quarterly pledge as a remarkable demonstration of dependable and visionary leadership.
