Kumawu MP Ernest Yaw Anim Invests in Education, Rewards Hardworking Teachers

The Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Mr. Ernest Yaw Anim, has reaffirmed his commitment to transforming education in his constituency by introducing key initiatives to enhance teaching and learning while supporting the welfare of teachers.

At a ceremony to recognize the contributions of educators, Mr. Anim rewarded 10 outstanding teachers with motorbikes, refrigerators, television sets, and cash prizes. An additional 60 teachers were honored with certificates of appreciation for their dedication, particularly those working in remote areas.

Speaking at the event, the MP emphasized that education remains his top priority, and he is determined to ensure that Kumawu produces top professionals across various fields.

“My vision is to see every household in Kumawu raise professionals—engineers, doctors, and lawyers—to contribute to national development. Investing in education is the foundation for this goal,” he stated.

To address educational challenges in the constituency, Mr. Anim has spearheaded several initiatives, including providing reading materials, computers, and other essential teaching and learning resources. He has also launched a mentorship program for senior high school students, with plans to extend it to junior high schools to guide students in career choices.

Recognizing the growing importance of digital literacy, the MP announced plans to supply laptops to all junior high schools in the constituency to enhance ICT education.

The District Director of Education, Mr. Kwame Oduro Owusu, commended Mr. Anim for his continuous support of the education sector. He noted that the MP’s efforts are equipping young people with the knowledge and skills needed to drive Kumawu’s development.

Mr. Anim’s investment in education is widely appreciated by teachers, students, and parents, with many believing that his efforts will create lasting change and open new opportunities for the youth in Kumawu.
