Kumasi Technical Institute PTA Hands Over Major Renovation Projects to Boost Teaching and Learning

The Parents-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to improving academic excellence and welfare in the school with the official handover of a series of major renovation and development projects to the school administration on Monday, 2nd December 2025.
The initiative, executed as part of the PTA’s core mandate to strengthen collaboration among parents, teachers, and school authorities while supporting student welfare and institutional growth, marks one of the most significant infrastructure enhancement efforts undertaken in recent years.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, PTA leaders emphasized that the projects were fully initiated, supervised, and financed by the Association in response to pressing infrastructural needs identified within the school. They noted that the improvements were carefully selected to directly enhance teaching and learning, promote discipline, and create a more conducive environment for academic excellence.
Among the projects handed over are the complete painting of the administration block and repair of its roof, aimed at giving the school’s central management structure a new and more welcoming outlook. The PTA also funded the painting of the library block, ensuring that students and staff have a more serene and attractive space for study and research.
The gesture further includes the renovation and painting of the Kumasi Mintah Hall (auditorium), which hosts key academic and social activities of the school, as well as the renovation and painting of the main classroom block, providing a refreshed and improved learning atmosphere for thousands of students.
To address challenges in student feeding and dining, the Association financed the expansion and painting of the dining hall and provided tables and benches to accommodate the growing student population. The Fashion Design and Technology Department also benefited from new tables and benches to support practical learning.
In addition, the PTA renovated the VOTEC (VT) classroom block and installed new electrical fittings at the Architectural Draughting classroom at the South Gate (SG) block—upgrades expected to significantly enhance teaching, safety, and technical practice for students pursuing vocational and technical training.
School authorities, in receiving the projects, expressed profound gratitude to the PTA for its foresight, dedication, and investment in the school’s development. They described the gesture as timely, visionary, and an exemplary demonstration of stakeholder partnership in promoting quality technical education.

The handover ceremony concluded with renewed calls for continued collaboration between parents, teachers, and the school administration to sustain development efforts and ensure that Kumasi Technical Institute remains a leading hub for technical and vocational training in Ghana.
