Kumasi Journalist Samuel Ofori Boateng Donates Mathematical Sets to BECE Candidates at Presbyterian Church of Ghana Peace Congregation-Sokoban

In a generous act of support for education, renowned Kumasi-based journalist, Mr. Samuel Ofori Boateng, has made a significant donation of mathematical sets to the 2025 BECE candidates at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Peace Congregation-Sokoban in the Ashanti region.
The donation, made during a brief yet impactful ceremony, reflects Mr. Ofori Boateng’s dedication to fostering academic excellence and encouraging the young minds in his community.
The mathematical sets were presented to each of the BECE candidates, who are preparing for their upcoming examinations. This thoughtful gesture comes as part of the journalist’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education within the church and to provide students with the tools they need to succeed academically.
Addressing the candidates, Mr. Ofori Boateng urged the students to take their studies seriously and to set ambitious goals. “Aim high and make the church proud,” he told the students, emphasizing that their background and environment should never be viewed as barriers to success. “Where you come from should not limit your potential. With hard work and dedication, you can achieve greatness,” he added.
In his remarks, the journalist also took the opportunity to caution the candidates about the growing concern of drug abuse among the youth, particularly the misuse of tramadol. “Tramadol and other harmful substances are a serious threat to our young people today,” Mr. Ofori Boateng warned. “Stay away from these substances. Your future depends on focusing on your education, which is the key to your success,” he emphasized.
The ceremony was made even more special by additional contributions from the church, which also presented long rulers and pens to the students, complementing Mr. Ofori Boateng’s donation. These items are crucial for the candidates as they prepare for their exams, further demonstrating the church’s commitment to supporting the educational development of its members.
Rev. Frank Amuzu, who received the items on behalf of the church, expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Ofori Boateng. “This donation is a timely intervention that will go a long way in motivating our students to perform well in their exams,” Rev. Amuzu stated. “We are truly grateful for this generous gesture, which will help them in their academic endeavors.”
Several of the BECE candidates who received the mathematical sets and other stationery items expressed their appreciation for the support. Many of them pledged to study diligently and to pass their exams with distinction, vowing to make their benefactors proud.
Mr. Samuel Ofori Boateng’s donation is a clear testament to the power of community support and the significant role that individuals can play in empowering young people through education. As the BECE candidates prepare for the exams that will shape their futures, they can take comfort in knowing that their community is behind them, providing not just material support, but also words of encouragement and inspiration.
