The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region has been given a major boost with the commissioning of an ultramodern constituency office in Bantama. The colourful event, described as historic, brought together top party stalwarts including former President John Agyekum Kuffour, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, national executives of the party, Ashanti regional leaders, and hundreds of enthusiastic supporters. The project was spearheaded by the Member of Parliament for Bantama, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, who emphasized his commitment to strengthening the party’s grassroots structures.

The newly built facility stands as one of the most modern constituency offices in the country and is expected to serve as a nerve centre for party mobilization, administrative work, and effective grassroots engagement.
In his address, former President John Agyekum Kuffour delivered a strong caution to supporters of the various NPP flagbearer aspirants, urging them to desist from insults, backbiting, and internal wrangling. He warned that such divisive tendencies could undermine the unity of the party and reduce its chances of reclaiming power in the 2028 general elections. “This party needs unity now more than ever. If we continue to insult each other and engage in backbiting, we will weaken ourselves and risk defeat in 2028. Politics of insults must stop. What we need is a united front to return to power,” Kufuor said to resounding applause.

He further reminded party members that the NPP has a proud history and a strong record of achievements under both his administration and that of President Akufo-Addo. However, he stressed that the legacy of the party would only count if its members remain disciplined, organized, and united behind a common vision.
Ex-President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who joined Kuffour in addressing the crowd, praised Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye for providing the constituency with such a befitting office. He described the new facility as a clear testament to the MP’s loyalty and dedication to the party, and a shining example of grassroots empowerment.
Akufo-Addo also charged party faithful to boldly trumpet the achievements of the NPP governments, from Kuffuor’s administration to his own. He highlighted infrastructure projects, social interventions, and economic policies that have transformed lives across the country, noting that these successes should form the basis of the NPP’s campaign going into 2028. “Let us not forget the monumental works that President Kuffour and I have done for Ghana. These achievements must not be hidden; they are the evidence of our competence. They must form the narrative as we move toward 2028,” Akufo-Addo declared.

The President also took a swipe at the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and president John Dramani Mahama. He reminded Ghanaians of the economic hardships and challenges associated with Mahama’s past governance and stressed that the NPP remains the better alternative. According to him, what the NPP requires is unity, hard work, and discipline to secure victory in December 2028.
The commissioning ceremony was filled with jubilation, as party supporters thronged the Bantama constituency to witness what many described as a symbol of the NPP’s enduring strength. Party executives at both the national and regional levels hailed the initiative, encouraging other constituencies to emulate the Bantama example by building permanent offices that can serve as strategic hubs for party activities.
The ultramodern Bantama office is expected to provide a permanent home for party organization in the constituency, strengthen communication with the grassroots, and serve as a rallying point for NPP activities in the Ashanti Region.
The message from both Kuffour and Akufo-Addo was emphatic: insults and disunity have no place in the NPP, and only unity, respect, and teamwork will secure the party’s return to power in 2028.
