KTI PTA Delivers Fully Renovated Facilities to School Management to Enhance Academic Environment

The Parents-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) has demonstrated exceptional commitment to improving the school’s learning environment with the official handover of a comprehensive range of renovation and development projects to the school management on Monday, 2nd December 2025.

The handover forms part of the PTA’s core mandate, which includes fostering strong collaboration between parents, teachers, and the administration; promoting student welfare and academic growth; and supporting the development of key school facilities. The latest projects, fully initiated, supervised, and funded by the Association, are expected to significantly enhance teaching, learning, and overall campus life.

Speaking during the ceremony, leaders of the PTA explained that the initiative was informed by critical infrastructural needs identified during regular engagements with school authorities. They expressed satisfaction that the Association’s investment had translated into visible improvements that would help create a more conducive academic atmosphere for both staff and students.

Among the infrastructure handed over is the fully painted administration block, which has also seen the repair of its deteriorated roof to ensure safety and comfort for administrative operations. The library block has likewise been repainted to provide a more appealing and inspiring space for reading and research.

The extensive transformation also includes the renovation and painting of the Kumasi Mintah Hall (auditorium), a facility central to major school events, examinations, and gatherings. The main classroom block, which hosts a large number of students daily, has also been renovated and painted to improve its functionality and visual appeal.

To address congestion and wear in the dining facility, the PTA undertook the expansion and painting of the dining hall and provided new tables and benches to enhance the comfort and hygiene of mealtimes. The Fashion Design and Technology Department benefited from additional tables and benches to support practical lessons and enhance creativity and productivity among students.

The renovation of the VOTEC (VT) classroom block forms another key component of the intervention, ensuring that technical and vocational training spaces are well-equipped and conducive to hands-on learning. The PTA also installed new electrical fittings at the Architectural Draughting classroom located at the South Gate (SG) block, improving safety and facilitating effective teaching and practical sessions.

Receiving the completed projects on behalf of the school, authorities expressed profound gratitude to the PTA for its visionary leadership and continued investment in the school’s growth. They described the upgrades as timely and transformative, noting that they would go a long way toward strengthening the academic capacity of the institution.

The event concluded with renewed calls for sustained partnership among parents, teachers, and school leadership to maintain the school’s infrastructure and uphold the high standards required of a premier technical institution. The PTA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting KTI’s mission of delivering quality technical and vocational education to Ghana’s future workforce.
