The Principal of Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI), Mr. Gabriel Kingsford Osei, has called on students to adopt Precision Quality™ as a mindset for success, stressing that the principle of “doing things right the first time, every time” will prepare them for excellence in the workplace and beyond.

He made the call during the inauguration ceremony of the strategic partnership between the Design and Technology Institute (DTI) and KTI, held at the KTI Auditorium. The collaboration, he said, is a landmark initiative aimed at embedding Precision Quality™ into Ghana’s technical and vocational education system.

“Precision Quality™ is not merely a concept. It is a commitment to consistency, discipline, and continuous improvement. These are the very attributes that define successful professionals and resilient institutions,” Mr. Osei explained.

The Principal outlined how the partnership will empower students by co-developing competency-based curricula, introducing industry-aligned internships, and equipping learners with essential soft skills such as communication, creativity, and confidence. These interventions, he said, will ensure that graduates of KTI are not only technically competent but also workplace-ready.

Mr. Osei emphasized that transformation in technical and vocational education cannot be achieved by a single institution working alone. “It is through strategic partnerships—between schools, industry, government, and community—that we build systems capable of lasting impact,” he stated.

He acknowledged the Founder and President of DTI for her visionary leadership and commended the Ghana TVET Service, the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), COPTI Ashanti, parents, guardians, and community stakeholders for their invaluable support.

Turning to the students, Mr. Osei urged them to embrace the opportunities created by the collaboration with commitment and determination. “To our learners: this partnership is for you. It is a promise that your education will be relevant, your skills will be valued, and your future will be bright. We urge you to embrace this opportunity with diligence, pride, and purpose,” he said.

The Principal concluded by expressing confidence that the DTI–KTI collaboration would mark the beginning of a new chapter defined by innovation, relevance, and impact. “Together, let us build a Ghana where every young person has the tools, the mindset, and the opportunity to thrive,” he added.

The event attracted education leaders, industry representatives, community stakeholders, and parents, who all welcomed the collaboration as a significant step toward strengthening Ghana’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.
