Krofrom Fire Service Attack: Fire Truck Repaired, Assembly Member Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong Urges Government to Provide Adequate Firefighting Equipment

On December 27, 2024, a disturbing incident occurred in the Krofofrom suburb of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly when members of the community attacked personnel of the National Fire Service, causing severe damage to a fire truck. The attack sparked concerns over the challenges faced by the fire service in ensuring the safety and protection of the community.

Despite the incident, the fire truck has been fully repaired, thanks to the prompt intervention of the local Assembly Member, Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong, and the support of the community. Their collaborative efforts have successfully restored the fire truck to service, ensuring that it remains available to safeguard the residents of Krofofrom and surrounding areas.

Hon. Frimpong expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the Ghana National Fire Service, commending their resilience and unwavering commitment to serving the public, despite the difficulties they often face.

“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Ghana National Fire Service for their continuous dedication to protecting lives and properties across the country. Their hard work and resilience in the face of adversity is truly commendable,” said Hon. Frimpong.

In addition to recognizing the fire service’s work, Hon. Frimpong made a strong appeal to the Government of Ghana, urging them to prioritize the provision of more fire tenders and essential firefighting equipment to support the National Fire Service. He emphasized the critical need for the right tools to respond effectively to emergencies and protect the community.

“I am calling on the Government of Ghana to assist the Fire Service by providing more fire tenders and equipment. These resources are essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities. The Fire Service’s work is crucial, and they must be adequately equipped,” Hon. Frimpong stated.

Hon. Frimpong also expressed his gratitude for the collective efforts of the Krofofrom community, whose swift response and cooperation were instrumental in getting the fire truck repaired and back in operation. The strong unity of the residents highlights the power of community spirit and the shared responsibility for local safety.

“God bless Krofofrom. God bless Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly. God bless Ashanti Region. God bless Ghana,” concluded Hon. Frimpong.

This incident serves as a poignant reminder of the vital role emergency services play in community safety and the importance of ensuring that the National Fire Service is properly equipped with the necessary resources to continue their life-saving work across the country. It also underscores the urgent need for government intervention to support the fire service in performing its essential duties.
