Kaase Royal Family Breaks Silence: Debunks False Claims of Having No Heirs to the Stool

The royal family of Kaase in the Ashanti Region has strongly dismissed claims circulating within the community that there are no rightful descendants or heirs to the Kaase stool. The family has described the reports as false, malicious, and part of a calculated attempt to distort the traditional lineage and heritage of the Kaase people.

This response comes after a viral message allegedly spread by one Mensah Bonsu, a resident of the area, who claimed that the Kaase community had no royal lineage or stool heirs. The claim, which has gained attention on social media and in some local discussions, has sparked concern among the traditional leadership and residents who are familiar with the long-standing history of the royal family in Kaase.

Speaking at a well-attended press conference, a prominent royal family member, Nana Abena Konadu, firmly rejected the assertions, stating that the family is the authentic royal bloodline with legitimate claim to the Kaase stool.

“We are the direct descendants of the royal family of Kaase. Our ancestry and traditional authority are rooted in history and culture. Any claims that seek to deny our royal status are baseless and should be treated with the contempt they deserve,” Nana Abena Konadu stated.

She went on to accuse Mensah Bonsu of taking over community lands and other inherited properties, which he has been selling without any authority. According to her, these actions are being carried out in blatant disregard for the customs and leadership of the land, and solely for personal enrichment.

“Mensah Bonsu has for years usurped the authority of the royal family, selling lands and properties belonging to the community without accountability. This is not only a betrayal of our traditions, but a grave injustice to the people of Kaase,” she added.

The royal family is now calling on the revered Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to step in and resolve the matter, bringing peace and clarity to the chieftaincy and land disputes in Kaase. They believe only the intervention of the Asantehene can bring lasting peace and reaffirm the rightful leadership of the community.

Adding his voice to the issue, Opanin Kwabena Afful, head of the Kaase royal clan, expressed his disappointment in the spread of falsehoods and the apparent disrespect for tradition. He emphasized that the family’s lineage is well-documented and recognized by the relevant traditional authorities.

“It is unfortunate that someone from this very community would choose to deny what is evident and attempt to destroy the legacy of our ancestors. We urge all well-meaning citizens of Kaase to stand with the truth and defend our heritage,” Opanin Afful noted.

The royal family has assured the people of Kaase that they remain committed to protecting the legacy of the community and will not allow any individual or group to rewrite its history for selfish interests. They also warned those behind the spread of falsehoods to desist before the law catches up with them.

As tensions rise over the legitimacy of traditional authority in Kaase, all eyes are now on the Manhyia Palace, where it is expected that the Asantehene will take decisive action to restore order and reaffirm the rightful custodians of Kaase stool.
