Information gathered from Ampatia Hemang in the Atwima Kwanwoma district of the Ashanti Region indicates that, Ghana immigaration Service (GIS) has arrested Seven foreigners suspected to be involved in internet fraud, Sakawa.
Two of them are young women others are men.
According to the district chief executive for Atwima Kwanwoma district ,Hon Prince Karikari said
Assembly member of the area, Hon. James Sarfo who hinted the immigration officers to carry out the operation.
Hon James Sarfo explained that, the residents in the community alarmed to him the activities of these people suspected to be fraudsters.
He said, he proceeded it to the immigration office and started monitoring their operations in the community.
It was later confirmed that, the allegation is true so this morning, Friday, November 12, 2021, he together with the security operatives in the district arrested them.
He disclosed that, their ages ranges from 20-40.
“As we speak, they have been send to the Regional Police Command”, to arranged before court he added.
