As part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, Juaben Rural Bank PLC, in collaboration with the Ejisu Municipal Assembly, has organized a major clean-up exercise in the Ejisu community. The initiative, aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness, saw active participation from various stakeholders, including the traditional authorities, youth groups, and other institutions.
Speaking to the media after the exercise, the Chief Executive Officer of Juaben Rural Bank, Mr. Noble Augustine Awere Damoah, highlighted the bank’s commitment to environmental sustainability. He revealed that the board of directors has embarked on an ambitious project to plant 40,000 trees across the Juaben traditional area as part of the bank’s efforts to preserve Ghana’s forest cover.
“The board of directors of Juaben Rural Bank is fully committed to the tree-planting initiative, with the goal of contributing to the preservation of our forests. This is part of our broader corporate social responsibility to the people of the Juaben traditional area,” Mr. Awere Damoah stated.
He added that the initiative is being supported by key stakeholders, including the Juaben Traditional Council, led by Nana Otuo Serebour II, the Paramount Chief of Juaben and Chairman of the Council of State, as well as the Juaben Municipal Assembly, the Agricultural Office, youth groups, and other local institutions.
Mr. Awere Damoah also took the opportunity to remind Ghanaians of the importance of keeping their environment clean. He called on citizens to actively engage in clean-up activities to help combat the growing problem of filth in many communities.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu, Hon. Samuel Oduro Frimpong, expressed his gratitude to the management of Juaben Rural Bank for their generous support in the fight against environmental pollution. He noted that the bank’s involvement in the clean-up exercise was a significant step toward addressing sanitation challenges in the municipality.
As part of its contribution, Juaben Rural Bank donated essential cleaning tools, including 30 shovels, 30 rakes, 30 long brooms, and 50 packs of water, as well as branded T-shirts, to support the clean-up efforts. The MCE praised the bank for its corporate social responsibility and urged other organizations and institutions to follow suit by engaging in similar initiatives that benefit the community.
“I want to sincerely thank Juaben Rural Bank for their support in this fight against filth. Their donation of cleaning equipment and water has been instrumental in making today’s exercise a success.
