Juaben MCE Holds Grand Thanksgiving Service, Pledges Unity and Development for Municipality

The St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Juaben was filled with songs of praise and celebration on Sunday, as the newly nominated and confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Juaben, Mrs. Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu, held a grand thanksgiving service to express her heartfelt gratitude to God for a successful nomination, confirmation, and swearing-in.
The event, which drew a large congregation of worshippers clad predominantly in white attire, was graced by traditional rulers, constituency executives, assembly members, heads of departments, church members, and close family and friends of the MCE.
The service featured powerful renditions of thanksgiving hymns and dancing as the congregation joined the MCE to thank God for His divine guidance and protection throughout her political journey. Mrs. Ansu’s path to becoming MCE was not without its challenges, making the thanksgiving service a deeply emotional and spiritually significant event for her and her supporters.
Speaking to the media after the service, Rev. Father Charles Kofi Sarpong, the Parish Priest of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, praised Mrs. Ansu for dedicating her first public gathering to God. He reminded her of the importance of humility and loyalty, advising her not to forget those who stood by her during her time in political opposition.
“This is a moment of joy, but also of reflection and responsibility. Madam MCE must remember the people who helped her along the way — her loyal supporters and the community at large. She must not abandon them now that she has been confirmed,” Rev. Sarpong said.
He urged the people of Juaben — including the clergy, assembly staff, traditional authorities, and the general public — to offer their full support to the new MCE to help her succeed in her role.
In her address to the congregation, Mrs. Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu expressed deep appreciation to the President for her nomination, the assembly members for her confirmation, and most importantly, to God for His favor throughout the process.
She promised to serve with diligence and collaborate closely with the Member of Parliament for Juaben Constituency, Hon. Ama Pomaa Boateng, and other stakeholders to bring about holistic development in the area.
“My administration will be an all-inclusive one. I will work with every resident of Juaben, regardless of political affiliation. Our focus must be on the development of our beloved Municipality,” she emphasized.
Mrs. Ansu highlighted her vision to reduce unemployment in the municipality by rolling out apprenticeship and skills training programmes for the youth. She also pledged to support women in business through the Women’s Development Bank, a key initiative under former President John Dramani Mahama’s Resetting Ghana Agenda.
“Our women are industrious and resourceful. With the right financial support and capacity building, they can transform their businesses and livelihoods. I am committed to helping them thrive,” she noted.
The thanksgiving service concluded with a special prayer session for wisdom, strength, and guidance for the MCE as she begins her tenure. Many community members present expressed optimism about her leadership and pledged their unflinching support to her administration.
Mrs. Ansu’s thanksgiving marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Juaben Municipality — one filled with hope, unity, and a shared vision for development.
