In a bid to enhance entrepreneurial skills and provide sustainable livelihood options for the people of Amasaman, Independent Parliamentary Candidate, Bishop Samuel K. Denoo, successfully organized the second edition of his “Job and Cash” skills training program. The initiative, held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, attracted hundreds of community members eager to learn new skills and gain financial support for startup ventures.
This year’s program, under the theme “Job and Cash,” brought together over 600 participants, a significant increase from the 300-400 beneficiaries in its first edition. With a curriculum covering soap making, after-wash products, shower gel production, meat pie preparation, and more, the program aimed to provide participants with a practical pathway to economic independence.
Speaking to the media, Doris Mirekuwa, spokesperson for Bishop Denoo, emphasized the importance of such training initiatives. She highlighted that many people have received training elsewhere but face barriers in starting their businesses due to financial constraints. Bishop Denoo’s program, however, seeks to fill this gap by not only providing training but also supporting participants with startup capital.
“Bishop Denoo is deeply committed to empowering local entrepreneurs and creating lasting opportunities within the community,” Mirekuwa stated. “His vision extends beyond seeking votes; he is dedicated to improving lives in Amasaman. This program is just one testimony to his long-term goals for the community.”
Mirekuwa further stressed the importance of empowering women, noting that they often play a foundational role in supporting families. “Women are the backbone of every family, and we must create opportunities for them to build stronger homes and communities,” she said, advocating for continued skills training and financial support to reduce unemployment in Amasaman.
Participants at the event expressed gratitude for Bishop Denoo’s efforts. They lauded the program as a beacon of hope, especially for those struggling to find stable employment opportunities. Many beneficiaries pledged to apply their newly acquired skills to create businesses and improve their lives.
As the program concluded, several beneficiaries encouraged community members to support Bishop Denoo’s candidacy, viewing him as a visionary leader dedicated to the well-being of Amasaman.
