Increase Investment in Agriculture in Atwima Kwanwoma

Mr. Michael Amponsah Frimpong, Managing Director of FMB Farms, has called on government to invest heavily in agriculture in the Atwima Kwanwoma District, with particular emphasis on ginger production.
According to him, Atwima Kwanwoma has the agricultural potential to significantly contribute to Ghana’s economic growth without excessive reliance on foreign support, if the sector is given the needed attention. He noted that ginger cultivation in the district could serve as a major economic driver, creating jobs and improving livelihoods.
Mr. Frimpong explained that the agricultural value chain is broad and, when fully developed, could become the engine of growth for Atwima Kwanwoma and Ghana as a whole. He therefore urged government and stakeholders to prioritize investments in farming, processing, and marketing to unlock the full benefits of the sector.
He also appealed to the District Assembly and residents to cultivate the habit of planting more trees to help beautify the environment and make communities safer and more conducive for living.
Touching on local development, the business mogul encouraged the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, to strengthen collaboration with businesses operating within the district and leverage their expertise and resources to accelerate development.
Mr. Frimpong assured the DCE of his personal commitment to the progress of Atwima Kwanwoma and pledged to mobilize fellow business executives to support development initiatives in the district.
Additionally, he called on government to urgently fix the poor road network in the district, stressing that good roads are critical to attracting investors and enhancing economic activities.
He made these remarks when the District Chief Executive for Atwima Kwanwoma paid an official visit to FMB Farms at Adum-Nwamase to interact with him as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders in the district.
