IGP has not been asked to proceed on leave – Police Service

The Ghana Police Service has said its attention has been drawn to some media reports suggesting that the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has been asked to proceed on leave.

Contrary to the reports, the Police the IGP is still at post.

“We would like to urge the public to disregard this fake news and treat same with the contempt it deserves,” a statement said on Sunday, June 30.

It added “The Inspector-General of Police remains committed to his patriotic duty of leading the Ghana Police Service as per the mandate given him by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.”
