Hon. Seth Osei Akoto Assures Completion of Stalled Police Station Projects in Atwima Mponua

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Mponua, Hon. Seth Osei Akoto, has assured residents of his strong commitment to continue and complete all stalled development projects initiated by his predecessor, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah.

Speaking at a community outreach event, the MP acknowledged the efforts of the former legislator, especially in the area of improving security within the constituency. He noted that during Hon. Asiamah’s tenure, the construction of police stations was started in several key communities including Mpasatia, Bayerebon, Tano Odumasi, and Tenpom. However, some of these projects could not be completed before the end of his term.

“I recognize the great foundation laid by Hon. Isaac Asiamah. Security is critical, and the police station projects he started are very important to our people. I am determined to see these projects completed,” Hon. Osei Akoto said.

Currently, Atwima Mponua has only three operational police stations—a situation Hon. Osei Akoto described as insufficient for the growing population and expanding communities. He believes that strengthening security infrastructure is vital for both safety and development.

The MP revealed that his office is working with relevant stakeholders, including the Ministry of Interior and the Ghana Police Service, to revisit and re-evaluate the abandoned projects for possible continuation. He emphasized that improving the security landscape of Atwima Mponua is a top priority under his leadership.

As part of a broader vision for the constituency, Hon. Osei Akoto also expressed his desire to secure a District Police Divisional Command for Atwima Mponua. According to him, this will ensure stronger police presence, better law enforcement coordination, and quicker response to crime-related incidents.

“It is my fervent prayer and commitment that Atwima Mponua will soon have its own police divisional command. This will not only boost morale among our security officers but also bring lasting peace and protection to our communities,” he said.

Hon. Osei Akoto called for unity among residents and encouraged traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and the youth to support his development agenda. He reiterated that he remains focused on building a better, safer, and more prosperous Atwima Mponua for all.

The MP’s assurance has been widely welcomed by residents and community leaders, who say the completion of the police stations and the establishment of a divisional command would mark a significant milestone in the constituency’s development journey.
