Hon. Samuel Amponsah has officially brought his tenure as Presiding Member of the Amansie South District Assembly to a close after serving two successful terms, marking the end of a significant chapter in his public service journey. In a formal notice of transition, he announced his decision not to seek re-election to the position and declared his intention to contest as the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Manso Adubia Constituency.
Hon. Amponsah described his period in office as both an honour and a privilege, expressing deep gratitude to his colleague Honourable Assembly Members for the confidence and trust they placed in him throughout his tenure. He noted that the opportunity to preside over the Assembly’s proceedings and contribute to policy direction and development initiatives within the district remains one of the most fulfilling responsibilities of his public life.
During his time as Presiding Member, the Assembly operated within an atmosphere of unity, cooperation, and mutual respect. Hon. Amponsah acknowledged the collaborative working relationship he enjoyed with the District Chief Executive, emphasizing that their partnership strengthened governance and facilitated the smooth implementation of programmes and projects across the district.

He further commended the District Coordinating Director and the entire Assembly staff for their professionalism, dedication, and hard work, which he said were instrumental in advancing the district’s development agenda. He also paid tribute to Nananom for their wisdom, guidance, and consistent encouragement, noting that traditional leadership played a crucial role in promoting peace, stability, and community engagement.
Reflecting on the collective achievements of the Assembly, Hon. Amponsah stated that progress recorded over the years was the result of shared responsibility and teamwork. He expressed pride in the strides made and the enduring spirit of cooperation that characterized his leadership.
As he steps into a new phase of service, Hon. Amponsah formally declared that his political aspirations are now directed toward contesting for the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary slot in the Manso Adubia Constituency. He indicated that his ultimate aim is to serve as Member of Parliament and to contribute to national development while championing the interests of his constituents at a higher level of governance.
He extended his best wishes to all Honourable Assembly Members who intend to contest for the position of Presiding Member, expressing hope that the selection process would be peaceful, transparent, and guided by the overarching interest of the district.
