In a heartfelt effort to enhance education in the Himan Electoral Area, Hon. Alex Yaw Baakoh, popularly known as Nana Abroso, has announced plans to construct a new kindergarten and primary school block for a community in the “village” within the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality.
The new classroom block will replace the current dilapidated structure, which has become a major concern for teachers, parents, and students. The existing facility, characterized by structural weakness and inadequate space, has hindered effective teaching and learning, making this project a welcome relief for the community.
Speaking about the initiative, Hon. Nana Abroso, a philanthropist and businessman, expressed his commitment to improving education in the area. He revealed that he has already molded 3,000 blocks to kickstart the construction of the classroom block.
“Education is the backbone of every community, and I am passionate about ensuring that our children receive quality education in a safe and conducive environment. The current state of the school is unacceptable, and I am committed to building a modern facility that will inspire both teachers and students to excel,” Hon. Nana Abroso said.
The proposed classroom block will provide spacious and well-ventilated learning spaces, designed to accommodate the growing number of pupils in the community. The facility will also create a safer and more engaging learning environment for the children, who have endured difficult conditions in the old structure for years.
The announcement has been welcomed with joy by parents, teachers, and community leaders, who see the initiative as a significant step towards improving education in the area.
Some teachers have expressed their excitement: “Teaching has been challenging due to the poor state of the current building. This new facility will not only provide a safe space but will also motivate both students and teachers to give their best.”
Similarly, some parents added, “This is a blessing for our community. Our children deserve better, and Hon. Nana Abroso has shown that he truly cares about their future.”
The project is part of Hon. Nana Abroso’s broader vision to improve infrastructure and social services in the Himan Electoral Area. Over the years, he has led initiatives in water provision, youth empowerment, and other development-focused projects.
Officials from the Prestea Huni Valley Municipal Assembly, as well as residents, have commended Nana Abroso for his proactive approach to addressing the challenges facing his constituents. They assured him of their support to ensure the successful completion of the project.
As work begins, the community is optimistic that the new classroom block will enhance the quality of education, encourage higher school attendance, and provide a safe environment where children can thrive academically.
Once completed, the facility will stand as a testament to the power of leadership dedicated to the welfare and development of the people.
