Hon. Kwame Amponsah Empowers 100 BECE Graduates with Over 300 Educational Items in Amansie South

The Presiding Member for the Amansie South District Assembly and Assembly Member for the Manso Datano Electoral Area, Hon. Samuel Kwame Amponsah,(Home Boy) has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to education by donating over 300 essential learning materials to newly admitted Senior High School (SHS) students from his area.

The donation, valued at several thousands of Ghana cedis, included student mattresses, trunks, chop boxes, and other learning materials, which were distributed to more than 100 students who successfully completed the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and have gained admission into various senior high schools across the country.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony held at Manso Datano, Hon. Amponsah reaffirmed his belief that education remains the most effective tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and achieving sustainable development in the district. He noted that the slow pace of development in Amansie South could be partly attributed to the limited number of influential intellectuals and professionals from the area who occupy strategic positions capable of attracting investment and national attention.

“We cannot continue to complain about lack of development if we fail to invest in education,” Hon. Amponsah stated. “The future of Amansie South depends on the knowledge and skills of our young people, and that is why I am determined to contribute my quota to their growth.”

He further urged parents to take a keen interest in their children’s academic journey and to provide them with the necessary moral and emotional support as they transition into senior high school life. Hon. Amponsah also appealed to philanthropists, benevolent individuals, and corporate bodies to complement government efforts by supporting educational initiatives at the grassroots level.

The gesture received widespread applause from parents, teachers, and community members who attended the ceremony. Many described it as a timely intervention, especially in light of the current economic challenges facing many families.

“We are truly grateful to Hon. Amponsah,” one parent remarked. “Many of us were worried about how to provide our children with mattresses and trunks, but his generosity has lifted that burden.”

The beneficiaries, visibly excited, also expressed their appreciation and pledged to make good use of the support.

“We thank Hon. Amponsah for thinking about us. We will study hard and make him proud,” a beneficiary student said with a smile.

In addition to the educational materials, Hon. Amponsah presented a cash donation of GH¢1,000 to the top-performing BECE candidates in recognition of their academic excellence and to further motivate others to strive for excellence.

Hon. Samuel Kwame Amponsah’s consistent support for education forms part of his broader vision to promote human capital development in the Amansie South District. Over the years, he has spearheaded several youth empowerment initiatives, educational support programmes, and community development projects aimed at improving the welfare of his people.

The ceremony concluded amid joy and celebration, with community leaders and parents commending Hon. Amponsah for his exemplary leadership, humility, and unwavering dedication to the educational advancement of the district.
