It seems most Ghanaians are misunderstanding the whole thing. Using mother tongue as a language of instruction means instructors should try as much as possible to use languages like Twi, Ga, Ewe, etc., to explain things to children during instructional periods for better understanding of concepts being taught, rather than using English language throughout the lesson with no understanding at the end.
This doesn’t mean the English language should be abolished; no, it will be used alongside local languages for better understanding.

I believe this isn’t a new thing, but reinforcing it will be very helpful.
