The Member of Parliament for Abura Asebu Kwamankese, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has cut sod for the commencement of work on the 12.1-kilometre Asebu–Brimsu road, marking a major step toward improving road infrastructure within the constituency.

The sod-cutting ceremony, held over the weekend, brought together traditional authorities, local government officials, community leaders and residents from the beneficiary communities. The project is expected to enhance connectivity between Asebu and Brimsu while improving access for several communities along the stretch.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Ofosu Kwakye described the project as a critical intervention aimed at addressing long-standing challenges associated with the poor condition of the road. He noted that for years, residents, farmers, traders and commercial drivers have endured difficulties using the route, particularly during the rainy season when sections become muddy and nearly impassable.

According to the MP, the reconstruction of the 12.1km road forms part of broader efforts to strengthen infrastructure development in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency. He emphasised that reliable road networks are essential for economic growth, improved access to education and healthcare, and the overall socio-economic advancement of communities.

Hon. Ofosu Kwakye assured constituents that the project would be executed to meet the required standards, stressing the importance of quality supervision and adherence to timelines. He reiterated his commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the road is completed within schedule to bring lasting relief to road users.

Community members who spoke at the ceremony expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing the project as timely and transformative. Many indicated that the road serves as a vital link for transporting agricultural produce to markets and facilitating daily commuting activities.

When completed, the Asebu–Brimsu road is expected to reduce travel time, enhance safety, and stimulate economic activities across the beneficiary communities. The project adds to ongoing development initiatives aimed at accelerating progress and improving the living conditions of residents within the constituency.
