Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, Member of Parliament for Kumawu and Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of Parliament, has participated in a capacity-building workshop on combating human trafficking, organized by the International Justice Mission in partnership with the Human Rights Committee of Parliament.

The workshop was designed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and coordination mechanisms of key stakeholders in addressing human trafficking and child labor. It brought together lawmakers, government officials, and civil society actors to share strategies, best practices, and frameworks for protecting vulnerable populations.

In his address, Hon. Anim underscored that human trafficking and child labor continue to pose serious threats to the dignity, safety, and future of citizens, particularly women and children. He emphasized that these violations are grave human rights concerns that require decisive and coordinated legislative action.

“As Parliamentarians, we remain committed to enhancing our legislative and oversight responsibilities to protect vulnerable persons and decisively combat these serious violations of human rights,” Hon. Anim stated.

The workshop highlighted the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration and the need for strengthened legislative measures to prevent, identify, and respond effectively to human trafficking and child labor in Ghana.
