President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Hon. Dr. Andy Okrah as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA), marking a significant elevation in his career.
Dr. Okrah, a seasoned public servant and development expert, brings extensive experience in governance, agriculture, and economic development to his new role. His appointment is expected to strengthen Ghana’s efforts in boosting the tree crops sector, which plays a crucial role in the country’s agricultural economy.
In his acceptance remarks, Dr. Okrah expressed gratitude to President Mahama for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work diligently to advance the objectives of the TCDA.
“I am deeply honored by this appointment and grateful to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for this opportunity. I am committed to working with all stakeholders to enhance the growth and sustainability of Ghana’s tree crops sector,” he stated.
The Tree Crops Development Authority was established to regulate and promote the development of six key tree crops: cashew, oil palm, rubber, coconut, mango, and shea. Under Dr. Okrah’s leadership, the Authority is expected to drive policies that will enhance value addition, improve farmer livelihoods, and boost Ghana’s agricultural exports.
