Hon. Dominic Bonsu to Sponsor Businesswomen, Donate Food Items to Disabled Women at Manso Takorase

In a heartwarming show of generosity and community development, Hon. Dominic Bonsu, the Assembly Member for the Manso Takorase/Afraso Electoral Area in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region, is set to sponsor a major empowerment program for women in his jurisdiction.

Scheduled for Thursday, July 31, 2025, the special event will be held at the funeral grounds of Manso Takorase and will feature two major donation packages: a GH¢1,000 sponsorship for each businesswoman in the electoral area and the presentation of bags of rice to disabled women in the community.

The initiative, fully funded by Hon. Bonsu from his personal resources as a businessman and philanthropist, is aimed at strengthening local businesses operated by women and alleviating the economic challenges faced by women with disabilities.

Speaking to the media ahead of the event, Hon. Bonsu emphasized his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of women in his electoral area. According to him, empowering women economically is the surest path to achieving community-wide transformation.

“I believe when you support a woman, you support a whole family. That’s why I have decided to sponsor every businesswoman in my electoral area with GH¢1,000 to boost her trade. In addition, I’m donating bags of rice to our disabled women so they too can feel included and supported,” he stated.

He further explained that the program is not a one-off gesture but part of a broader strategy to uplift livelihoods and create sustainable income opportunities for women in the area.

Community members, particularly market women, have warmly welcomed the announcement, expressing deep appreciation to Hon. Bonsu for his consistent efforts in championing the needs of the people. Many of them described the initiative as unprecedented, especially in these times of economic hardship when access to credit and business capital has become a major challenge.

Some  petty traders and beneficiaries ,said, “This is the second time in the history of our community that an Assembly Member is giving us money directly to support our businesses. May God bless Hon. Bonsu.”

The program is expected to be attended by local chiefs, opinion leaders, women’s groups, youth associations, and residents from all parts of the Manso Takorase/Afraso Electoral Area.

Hon. Dominic Bonsu, known for his philanthropic work and business acumen, has over the years spearheaded several development projects, including school infrastructure, sanitation improvement, and community health outreach. His latest initiative is yet another testimony to his passion for inclusive development and genuine service to his people.
