In a gesture aimed at supporting the Muslim community ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, Hon. Dominic Bonsu, the Assembly Member for Manso Takorase, has donated essential commodities to the Kumasi Central Mosque. The donation included bags of rice, boxes of assorted drinks, bags of sugar, and boxes of Lipton, among other items, to aid in the observance of the sacred month.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Bonsu emphasised the importance of unity, peace, and community support as Muslims prepare for Ramadan. “We are one people, and it is crucial that we promote and maintain peace before, during, and after Ramadan. These donations are a small token of support for the community that has played a meaningful role in our collective development,” he said.

The Executive Secretary to the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam’s Office, Alhaji Ustaz Ahmed Seidu, commended Hon. Bonsu for his generosity and underscored the need for peaceful conduct throughout the Ramadan period. “The leadership has engaged extensively with the youth to ensure discipline and a peaceful celebration. We encourage everyone to abstain from violence, reckless motor riding, and any activities that could lead to accidents during this holy month,” he stated.

The donation ceremony not only provided practical support to the Kumasi Central Mosque but also reinforced the spirit of community solidarity and interfaith cooperation. Hon. Bonsu urged the Muslim faithful to pray for the continued peace, unity, and development of Ghana, highlighting that such gestures strengthen social cohesion and mutual respect within the region.

Through initiatives like this, Hon. Dominic Bonsu continues to demonstrate his commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the broader Ashanti Region, fostering goodwill and promoting harmony during significant religious observances.
