The Assembly Member for Manso Takorase in the Amansie South District, Hon. Dominic Bonsu, has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving healthcare delivery in his area by donating medical equipment valued at GH¢320,000 to more than twenty-five health facilities across the district.
The well-attended presentation ceremony, held at Manso Takorase, brought together health officials, traditional authorities, assembly members, and community residents, who praised Hon. Bonsu for his dedication to promoting quality healthcare and his continued efforts to support the welfare of his people.

The donation, which included delivery beds, thermometer guns, blood pressure machines, wheelchairs, drip stands, stretchers, baby scales, ward screens, and television sets, is aimed at improving health service delivery and providing relief to both patients and health workers in the district.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Dominic Bonsu said the initiative was part of his commitment to complement the government’s efforts in strengthening healthcare delivery in Amansie South. He explained that the government alone could not shoulder the full responsibility of providing every resource needed in the health sector, hence the need for collective action and community support.

He noted that healthcare delivery is a shared responsibility that demands the contribution of everyone, including individuals, organizations, and private stakeholders. According to him, the GH¢320,000 investment reflects his vision of ensuring that every community in the district has access to basic health equipment and quality medical care.

Hon. Bonsu expressed optimism that the equipment would make a meaningful difference in healthcare delivery, reduce pressure on district hospitals, and ensure that local health centers can handle emergency and maternity cases more efficiently. He called on development partners, philanthropists, and corporate institutions to emulate this initiative and support the health directorate in addressing gaps in the sector.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the health centers, the District Director of Health Services, Mr. Ofosu Kwabi Nasas, expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Bonsu for the timely and thoughtful donation. He said the gesture had come at a crucial moment when most health facilities were facing severe logistical challenges.

Mr. Nasas commended Hon. Bonsu for his leadership and concern for the health needs of the people, adding that the donation would significantly enhance the operational capacity of health facilities across the district. He also appealed to the District Assembly and other stakeholders to address accommodation and security challenges confronting health workers in some parts of the district.

The District Planning Officer, Mr. Yaw Opoku, who represented the District Chief Executive, commended Hon. Bonsu for his consistent commitment to community development. He assured that the Amansie South District Assembly was implementing plans to provide adequate staff accommodation for both teachers and health workers to ease the burden of housing shortages in the district.

The event attracted a large turnout of residents and health staff who praised Hon. Dominic Bonsu for his compassion, dedication, and visionary leadership. Many described the donation as one of the most impactful individual interventions in recent years, noting that it would go a long way to improve healthcare delivery and save lives, especially in rural communities.

Community leaders and residents expressed their gratitude, describing Hon. Bonsu as a true servant leader whose actions reflect genuine concern for the well-being of his people. They called on other local leaders, philanthropists, and organizations to emulate his example and contribute to the collective development of the district.
